Toys & Other Treasures From Home

We have carefully selected a wide range of developmentally appropriate equipment
and toys for the centre. It would be appreciated if children did not bring along toys
from home, unless required for special days. Toys from home can get lost or broken,
and it saves a lot of heartache if these are left at home. Children are encouraged to
bring nature items and other items of general educational interest.

Car Seats

Children being driven to and from the centre must travel in a car seat or restraint in
accordance with traffic regulations. If different vehicles are used to transport your
child to and from the centre, you are welcome to bring a clearly named car seat
inside to be stored. The centre also has spare car seats available.

Birthdays

Birthday celebrations are enjoyed by
children and staff at Freckles. Parents
are welcome to provide a cake for their
child’s birthday celebrations at morning
or afternoon tea, and are most welcome
to join us. Alternatively, we can email
you photos of the celebrations. As per
our Food Documentation Policy, we
request a copy (in advance) of all of the
ingredients of any food items brought
into the centre.

Excursions

Excursions out of the centre will be arranged from time to time as part of your
child’s experience. Parents are encouraged to be part of these outings. Excursion
slips outlining the trip, transport, cost and the adult/child ratio will be given
to parents to complete prior to an outing. Children who are unable to attend
excursions will remain at the centre. Children may be taken on small walks out of
the centre. Approval for these is given when completing the enrolment form.
